eduReboot Launches!
eduReboot is a web-based project designed to support adult learners who want to return to higher education and earn undergraduate or graduate degrees after being away from formal schooling for years. The website shall host content and tools designed to help adult learners find the information they need, create a plan, and help solve problems that are common amongst adult students.
This concept grew from my own experiences and struggles when I decided to go back to college nearly 20 years after leaving without completing my degree. After building a career in law enforcement support services as a detention officer and emergency telecommunicator in 911, I realized I still longed to accomplish my educational goals and could contribute so much more to my community and the world. I returned to school in my thirties, managing the responsibilities of family, a full-time job, and a mortgage, yet I persevered and earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and now, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science from one of the best programs in the United States, if not the world, at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The inspiration to develop eduReboot came about from overcoming these challenges, and my passion for education was reignited through my enrollment in EdTech at Georgia Institute of Technology. Registering the project domain years ago, I had always envisioned an easy-to-use resource that could help guide adult learners through planning and committing to return to college. Now, with the opportunity to make this idea real, I want to implement the website and help others overcome the same barriers I faced, reach their academic goals, and experience the same sense of fulfillment that I have.
Please allow me to welcome you to eduReboot! I hope that my work here can help you achieve your educational goals and make your dreams come true!
